A new clip from “Black Sails” Season 3 episode 5 has been released online. The video shows Blackbeard explaining to Vane the best way to be a pirate and advices him to let go of the past.

[Spoiler alert]

Blackbeard (Ray Stevenson) tells Vane (Zach McGowan) that a woman has the god given power to leave marks on a man and it will be difficult for a man to erase those marks. Vane feels that Eleanor Guthrie (Hannah New) has not left any such marks on him and he has no hesitation in leaving Nassau.

“I know you are conflicted,” Blackbeard tells Vane. The pirate knows how Vane feels about what he is leaving behind in Nassau. The sudden influx of Spanish gold had meant that for the first time the island could have been governed properly and the pirates could have built a stable life for themselves there.

“A lion keeps no den. Because the savanna…all the space within it…everything that walks or crawls upon it belongs to him,” Blackbeard says. He wants Vane to join him in a life of piracy once again in “Black Sails” Season 3. With no island to call home, the English will not have a target to aim for and the pirates will be able to strike anytime they want without the fear of retaliation.

The fall of Nassau in the previous episode made many of the pirates escape the island. Some of the pirates had already surrendered to the English. In the next episode, Woodes Rogers (Luke Roberts) will take complete control of the island and secure the remaining Spanish gold.

Flint is yet to return to Nassau in “Black Sails” Season 3. He had accurately predicted the fall of Nassau in the previous episode. He and his crew members will appeal to the queen of their captors in the next episode, and try to secure their release.
