After "Dragon Age II," which was considered as a weaker sequel to BioWare's critically acclaimed RPG series, "Dragon Age: Inquisition" was a fitting return to form for the Electronic Arts franchise. The game was loved by fans and critics alike and swept many awards, one of which was the coveted Game of the Year award for 2014. Nearly half a year after the game's launch, the action RPG got its first major expansion dubbed "Jaws of Hakkon" through a highly anticipated DLC in the last week of March 2015.

Unfortunately, the launch was solely restricted to Microsoft's Xbox One and PC platforms. Gamespot points out that the exclusivity deal signed between BioWare and Microsoft went as far as to prevent the developer from even confirming the release schedule for Sony's PlayStation consoles. Needless to say, gamers weren't happy with the development – a fact that was amply illustrated by Kotaku's coverage of the issue.

The Dragon Age franchise has always been a cross-platform release and it enjoys a sizeable fan base on both Xbox and PlayStation consoles. Gamers on Sony's console ecosystem justifiably felt left out, especially when BioWare's PR machinery wasn't even ready to acknowledge when or even if the "Jaws of Hakkon" expansion was headed to the PlayStation consoles. However, the developer has just confirmed a PlayStation version of the DLC out of fear of negative backlash and a possible boycott of the franchise by gamers from the Sony camp.

BioWare has now announced the impending PS4, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of DLC through its Twitter account. IGN reports that the DLC will be available sometime in May 2015, but no specific launch date has been revealed by the developer yet. The announcement comes across as a damage control measure after PlayStation owners on various forums expressed their dissatisfaction at the lack of any information on a version of the DLC for their preferred platform.

The "Jaws of Hakkon" expansion focuses on the last Inquisitor within the Dragon Age lore. The DLC will reveal the fate of the Inquisitor while chronicling the hunt of a powerful dragon. The cryptic announcement reveals that the expansion will have players exploring an ancient Tevinter fortress that "hides a dangerous secret." The DLC will be set in an overgrown wilderness where players will meet the Avvar hunter tribe. Like the previous games, "Jaws of Hakkon" will task the players with preventing a world-ending catastrophe caused by an "ancient god of war bent on destroying the world."
