In the episode leading to the season finale, we finally see two beasts in the same room - Vincent (Jay Ryan) and Gabe (Sendhil Ramamurthy). The two met following Gabe's meeting with Catherine (Kristin Kreuk) in a hotel where he convinced her to help him get to Vincent for a needed blood sample. Gabe was desperate to find out what it was that the scientists developed in the latter beast experiments that enabled stabilization much more than the exhibits.

Since Gabe was practically the first version and has been dependent on medications prescribed by Catherine's mom since he was four, he wanted to know what was in Vincent that enabled him to control himself much better.

So Vincent gave his blood sample to Gabe, and Gabe gave the stabilizing meds to Vincent. Suddenly Vincent felt a sense of normalcy thinking there'd no longer be transformations as long as he took the meds. He and Catherine began dreaming about a normal life together - going on dates, being themselves, and someday, maybe even have a house and kids. That's until JT (Austin Basis) broke the not so good news. The medication could kill Vincent if he took it continuously and the most his body could take it is three years.

The finale teaser hints of an epic fight. Will this be the end of beastly Vincent as he goes up against beastly Gabe? It's a fight that will see Vincent struggling in the early stages as he deals with Gabe. As Jay Ryan told TV Guide "Now that Vincent has been taking medications his strength is weakened...So at the beginning of the fight he doesn't have his beast qualities and he has to refer back to his military training."

Executive producer Jennifer Levin also said in her interview with the Collider, "I guess the word would be epic. We use it a lot but it is the most epic episode that we've done for sure. It's big and grand. As far as what they'll feel, they'll feel frustrated that they have to wait four months to find out what happened. We did really go for the cliffhanger. We have really pushed ourselves trying not to be too safe."

Meanwhile, the sneak peek also shows Gabe preparing for the showdown versus Vincent. He knows that this is his only chance for self-preservation. But for the sake of drama, isn't there a way that both beasts find a cure without killing each other?

What can viewers expect from the finale "Never Turn Back?" Secrets revealed, the promo teasers say. Catherine is about to learn that someone in her family is not who they appear to be. Worse, maybe Vincent has been keeping this secret from her all along. Meanwhile, since there's still so much more to dig into the mythology of Murfield, looks like the season ender will be just full of explosive cliffhangers.

Beauty and the Beast is up for a second season set to air on CW this fall. The episode finale "Never Turn Back" airs May 16, Thursday on CW.
