Mark Webber wins again at the recently concluded 2012 Monaco Grand Prix. This is Mark Webber's 8th victory in his career and this is also his second victory in Monaco. He first won the title two years ago.

Mark Webber's win also made him the 6th different driver to win in the opening six races of the season. This is the first time that it has ever happened in the Monaco Grand Prix. The Australian was able to be lead the race from the beginning up until the end (except during the pit stop period). Though that is the case, the race was still a tight one as the four finished within 1.3 seconds from each other. Mark Webber (Red Bull car) finished only 0.6 seconds from Nico Rosberg (Mercedes) and 0.9 seconds ahead of Fernando Alonso (Ferrari).

When asked about his win, Mark Webber replied that in spite the weather threats that seemed to have slowed down the smooth start, he was still fortunate to "get pole."

Many experts predicted that if Michael Shumacher was not penalized, he would be able to win this race thus making him the 6-time champion for the Monaco Grand Prix. He was penalized during the race in Spain two weeks ago because he was involved in causing an accident during the said race. Schumacher was placed into the 6th position to start at a race during the Monaco Grand Prix which makes him unable to finish first during the race.

During the awarding ceremony, Mark Webber accepted his trophy from Prince Albert of Monaco. After receiving his award, he then proceeded to spray champagne all over and gave a hug to Adrian Newey, the Red Bull designer.
