The Editor-in-Chief of The Australian, Chris Mitchell, said the app allows his newspaper to show the way in terms of latest technology.

Mitchell added that it is an exhilarating advance for their readers who demand for The Australian's agenda-sitting news and authoritative comment as it takes place, wherever they are.

The Australians are extensively investing in digital media as it will be the way a new generation of readers will choose to utilize their journalism.

The app will be sold at a preliminary price of $4.99 monthly and the download will be available on the iPad app store from May 28 onwards, same day as the release of the iPad in Australia.
