Sarah Paulson's character in "American Horror Story-Coven," Cordelia, was crowned the Supreme in the season finale. In the new season of FX's horror anthology series, which is subtitled "Freak Show," the actress, 39, is portraying the role of Bette and Dot Tattler, the conjoined twins with two heads. The conjoined twins are said to be the main attraction of Elsa Mars', played by Jessica Lange, run freaky circus sideshow. Ryan Murphy, co-creator of "American Horror Story," has said that Bette and Dot Tattler might be behind some dark events.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly (EW), Paulson has confirmed that her characters are likely to be responsible for some dark things. The actress adds, "When they're [Bette and Dot] discovered, Elsa in a way, even though it may not appear to be that in the beginning kind of saves them from what may befall them because of their dark deeds."

In the beginning, it will look like Elsa is offering Bette and Dot Tattler an opportunity to escape from their ominous fate, according to Paulson. The actress did not reveal from where Elsa rescues the conjoined twins. A brief video featuring Paulson's characters and Elsa indicate that Dot and Bette get introduced to Elsa in a hospital.

Bette and Dot share the same body but their brains and hearts see things differently. Paulson said to EW that her characters in the new season experience and process things differently from each other. Bette is the innocent one while Dot tilts towards darkness. Speaking about the relationship between the conjoined twins and Elsa, Paulson said to EW, "it's more reminiscent to me of Jude/Lana, certainly between Dot and Elsa." For Bette, Elsa is the "most glamorous thing that she has ever seen."

"Bette is such an innocent. There's so much wonder in her. It's a very different kind of relationship," Paulson said. She also revealed that that something crazy happens in the first episode of "American Horror Story-Freak Show" that will set the scene for the rest of Season 4 for the conjoined twins.

Meanwhile, TV Guide has confirmed that Elsa will sing in the premiere episode, "Monsters Among Us." Jessica Lange's character is a German ex-pat who came to the U.S. after the war and has been rescuing people with some kind of deformity from hospitals and jails.

"American Horror Story-Freak Show" is scheduled to premiere on Wednesday night, Oct. 08, 2014. Murphy has directed "Monsters Among Us."
