'Pahrump Hills' Region, Mars

After 18 months of driving, scientists on September 11, 2014, announced that Curiosity had arrived at the base of Mount Sharp ahead of schedule, thanks to a somewhat serendipitous decision to take an alternative path that would be gentler on the rover's damaged wheels. Within two weeks, Curiosity will reach an outcrop of rock called Pahrump Hills, where the first drill samples of Mount Sharp real estate will be made. Reuters/NASA/JPL-Caltech/MSSS/

A fossilised and encrusted corpse was noticed on Mars by YouTube user Joe White of ArtAlienTV on Aug 8 through images by the left Mastcam on NASA's Mars Curiosity Rover. White has found many objects on Mars which include a traffic signal and most recently, a crocodile.

White uploaded a video on YouTube of the fossilised doll on Oct 17. According to his description of the video, the object was noticed in at least 26 images. He said that it looked like a fossilised and encrusted corpse or doll that was covered in dried sediment concretion and was about four or five inches in length.

White, in his description, went on to say that it seemed to be wearing a thigh-high boots and had part of one arm sticking out. He added that it looked like that the head was still attached with an eye being visible and the neck being broken. He continued that the right arm of the object seemed to be holding something close to the torso and looked heavily encrusted, though it was difficult to make out what it was. It also looked like the right boot had a heel and a curve that was similar to a Cuban-style cowboy boot.

He said that it looked like an alien toy doll. He also said that a glass eye could be in the head of the doll and that it was highly reflective, even when it was in deep shadow. He continued that it looked as if the light was coming through the back of the head of the object and then shone through the glass eye brightly. He questioned that if it was a rock, how was such a phenomenon possible.

White uploaded the video in two parts: first, on finding of the object, and second, on the glass eye that he observed in the head of the doll. The first video was titled "MARS TINY BOOTED ALIEN: 5 inch Corpse or Fossil or Toy Doll" and it managed to garner 500 views in a matter of three days. It also attracted 14 comments. The second video managed to get 300 views in a matter of a day.
