Activision releases 'The Peanuts Movie: Snoopy's Grand Adventure' for consoles

Fans excited for “The Peanuts Movie” will be happy to hear about the new game based on the film called “Snoopy’s Grand Adventure.” Inspired by the classic comic strip from the late great Charles Schulz, which will be celebrating its 65^th anniversary soon, this 2D platformer will be easy enough for fans of any age to pick up and play.

Charlie Brown and his friends are playing hide and seek, with Snoopy in it. According to an official press release by Activision, everyone’s favorite dog will have to go through a number of interesting locations to find Charlie and his friends.

The locations Snoopy has to go through are quite diverse, ranging from underwater levels, to deep jungles and even the moon, there’s clearly a lot of variety in this game. Players will also be able to experience the classic airplane battles that Snoopy often fantasises about, which also made its way into the film’s first trailer.

Destructoid has stated that the gameplay looks fairly similar to “Yoshi’s Woolly World” on the Wii U, which is likely due to the platforming and the graphical style. The visuals are a nice way to tie-in to the movie’s look, while also offering an interesting mix of 2D and 3D graphics.

Snoopy will be able to put on a number of outfits that will help him in certain levels. These outfits also make Snoopy look real cute, which fans probably won’t complain about.

There will also be a co-op mode where the second player controls Snoopy’s friend Woodstock. For those unaware, Woodstock is the yellow bird that always follows Snoopy around.

“Peanuts” fans will also want to pick up a free-to-play mobile game called “Snoopy’s Town Tale” for iOS devices. The mobile game has players control Snoopy and his friends, as they build bases, explore familiar locations from the iconic comic strip and even go on quests.

“Snoopy’s Town Tale” is available now for iOS devices. The game will be coming to Android devices sometime in December; so all “Peanuts” fans can join in the fun, no matter the device.

“The Peanuts Movie: Snoopy’s Grand Adventure” is available now for the PS4, Xbox One and Xbox 360. The game costs Australians $59.95 for each version. The movie comes out next year in January.
