Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) said early this week that it sold three million of its new iPad tablet computers over the course of its first weekend on the market.

The third generation iPad, which features a higher-resolution display, a new processor, and support for high-speed 4G LTE data networks, went on sale for the first time around the world March 16.

Apple Stores and distributors in Australia, the United States, France, Canada, Germany, Japan, Singapore, Switzerland, Britain and Hong Kong are already selling the new iPad. It will be available in another two dozen countries on March 23.

"The new iPad is a blockbuster with three million sold - the strongest iPad launch yet," said Apple senior vice president of worldwide marketing Philip Schiller.

"Customers are loving the incredible new features of iPad... and we can't wait to get it into the hands of even more customers around the world this Friday."

While the new iPad doesn't have any radical improvements, the changes are enough for Apple to fend off tablet offerings by Android device makers and others.

Nonetheless, it doesn't mean that the new iPad is problem-free.

Here are the top five problems with the new iPad:

1. Battery charging. Some users are complaining that it would take roughly 15 minutes for the new iPad to reach 1% charge. Total charging, as some users complain, would take 6 hours and 30 minutes.

2. Overheating. User "faaty" said March 16, "Just got my new iPad. I'm loving the screen and speed but there's something weird about it. It gets rather warm/hot after 30 minutes of usage. It has never happened on my iPad 2." Many users have shared the same complaint about the device heating up on the bottom left, although a few have clarified that the device is warmer than usual, but not "hot". According to CNET, the new iPad's larger battery and faster chip can be the cause of the heat problem. Aside from that, all Apple iOS mobile products do not have a fan which can help in keeping down the temperature of the device when in use.

3. Yellowish Hue. The new iPad boasts of a retina display -- a 2,048-by-1,536-pixel display that has four times the number of pixels of the previous models. While the resolution has earned praises, some users have been complaining about a distinct yellowish hue on the retina display. User "rwgleaves" complains that while the iPad 3 is crisper looking, pages that should be clean white are washed out and yellow.

4. Autofill feature not working. "My wife pointed out that since the last Safari update, Autofill no longer really AUTO-fills (when you hit Tab) and instead requires either a point & click or a down-key then Return-key, which are both excessive actions for an AutoFill feature," claims user "cfaulk". Some users are advising about taking these steps: Go to Settings>Safari>Auto Fill>On .... Names and Passwords>On .... Use Contact Info>On. However, the feature is still not working for some.
