With the announcement of the Windows 10 and its planned 2015 release date, it appears that Microsoft may be following the "one device for all" approach that it took with the Xbox One. When its next-gen version was announced, the name Xbox One was explained to mean that the console is a one-stop for media, entertainment and gaming.

The same may actually go for the Windows 10 itself. According to DualShockers, the mock-up for the Windows 10 has shown it off as an optimized OS for a variety of devices. Yes, including the Xbox One.

Touting the line "One product family. One platform. One store," the Xbox One may be seeing an update once the Windows 10 hits. How it will affect the next-gen console is yet to be confirmed.

Further detailed in a blog post by Microsoft, the company's statement said, "We're not talking about one UI to rule them all-we're talking about one product family, with a tailored experience for each device."

The universality appears to be on the part of the developers, as it will allow them to create a universal app that will be able to run on all of the devices and platforms provided. It's a centralized experience of what customers may actually be making use of now-only made easier.

Xbox One Counterfeiters Charged

With the Xbox One almost celebrating its one-year in the market come November, a new development has sprung up regarding counterfeit Xbox One consoles that have allegedly been sold way back. It seems that the counterfeiters, identified to be five people, have already been charged-four in the U.S. and one in Australia.

BBC reports that the accused parties had stolen information pre-release for the Xbox One, which allowed them to make counterfeit versions of Microsoft's next-gen console. Worse, these were reportedly sold on eBay for as high as $5,000 way before the Xbox One's actual launch.

Apart from the counterfeit Xbox One, the accused were also reported to have stolen pre-release versions of games, including "Thief" and "Gears of War 3." The accused persons are facing five years in jail.
