At the PlayStation Experience, one of the biggest reveals was the exclusivity of the upcoming title "Street Fighter V" for the PS4. While this may mean cheering and jeering for fans of Sony's next-gen console, those who are over at the Xbox' side may have uttered a defeated sigh or two. However, a new report says that Microsoft has scored an exclusive deal on "Rise of the Tomb Raider."

Fans have started to ask the Xbox headquarters on how they feel about the exclusivity deal on "Street Fighter V," and a number of fans have also been wondering if this means that all is already lost when it comes to seeing the title on the Xbox One.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer has made it a point to answer the queries, which Gamerant had managed to report on. Responding via Twitter, Spencer said that what happened was a "business deal," which often happens in the industry. Through his response, Spencer shed light on how business does affect competition, which can, in turn, affect what games specific consoles can offer their fan bases.

The source brought up one good point regarding Capcom's upcoming title, and this is the tendency of the developer to create other versions titled "Super" or "Ultra" as alternative versions. This is not something new in the industry, especially when rivalling companies want to give something exclusive to their respective fans.

For the meantime, the PS4 has won this round in terms of acquiring "Street Fighter V," which will boast cross-platform play between the PS4 and PC. But if the PS4 managed to land "Street Fighter V," Microsoft is also looking at a potential exclusive title to its own next-gen console.

Square Enix, developer of the "Tomb Raider" game series, has announced that Microsoft will be publishing "Rise of the Tomb Raider." This was further confirmed by Xbox head of marketing Aaron Greenberg in a tweet. IGN reports that Greenberg simply announced that Microsoft is publishing "Rise of the Tomb Raider."

The source got in touch with the developer, who had confirmed Microsoft's role in releasing the series. "Microsoft has always seen huge potential in 'Tomb Raider' and they will get behind this game with more support across development, marketing and retail than ever before, which we believe will be a step in continuing to build the 'Tomb Raider' franchise as one of the biggest in gaming," said Square Enix in a statement to IGN.

This bit of news is not something fans have not heard of before, as earlier this year, it was also announced that there is an exclusivity deal brewing with "Tomb Raider" and Microsoft. However, this was solely a timed-exclusive one, which still meant that PlayStation fans will still get to play as long as they wait for the title to debut on Sony's consoles.

It appears now though that the deal has change. Microsoft even reached out to Eurogamer to explain how the mechanics of the new deal will go. From the looks of it, "Rise of the Tomb Raider" will be on the same plane as "Dead Rising 3" and "Dance Central, where Microsoft has partnered with the developer for exclusivity. It's currently scheduled for a holiday release in 2015.
