The impact of the six-month jail sentence on convicted Stanford University student Brock Turner continues to create ripples beyond Santa Clara County. Besides calls to remove Judge Aaron Persky for his sentencing decision, public opinion is against the Turner currently held at the county jail in San Jose.

CNN reports that Turner is in protective custody with 1,100 other inmates since those with sexual assault convictions are often potential targets for attacks from other prisoners because of the nature of their crimes. In 2014, a Brazilian man who allegedly raped his 8-month-old stepson was sodomised several times by fellow inmates.

It’s a fate that could happen to Turner if he is sent to a regular prison without protective custody. However, the New York Daily News reports that another group planned harm on Turner, convicted of sexual assault, even if he is under protective custody. A witch has organised a hex to curse the young man.

Melanie Elizabeth Hexen, the hex leader, in a post on Facebook, says the rite would involve a solid black candle, Turner’s photo, a black string and a spell which she shared on the social media portal. Hexen has threatened Turner with impotency, feel constant pain of pine needle in his guts and get no nourishment from food he eats.

She also hexed him on Tuesday night with lung failure when in water, nightmares while sleeping and being shamed as he meets justice. Although the post has been removed from Facebook, Hexen’s Facebook page remains active where she posted another comment that reads: “Every time they repost the hex, every time eyes read the words, every comment made, the spell grows stronger.”

Commenting on that post, Denise Ashley writes, “Let it be a statement and warning to all would be rapist.” Hexen says the unified hex made a lot of women feel “they had some power in this situation … That there was something they could do, some way they could come together and focus their rage and their need for justice that wasn’t being met.”

Hexen adds that her witchcraft is strong and the spell would work. To ensure that, over 750 people signed up to help Hexen cast the hex, with some of them posting photos of their household hexes while burning photos of Turner who blames the sexual assault and his missing the Rio Olympics on the university’s party culture.
