In September, “Will and Grace” fans were delighted to watch a special election-themed webisode of the long-running NBC sitcom. It featured Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes reprising their characters Will, Grace, Karen and Jack respectively. Ever since that webisode, rumours have been circulating that the fearsome foursome will head back to NBC for an all-new season of the series.

The cast were part of a 10-minute episode released online in September. It was done to urge voters to back Hillary Clinton in the presidential election. It was filled with up-to-the-minute jokes about everything from Ryan Lochte to Brangelina. The team also discussed whom to vote for and encouraged Jack to actually vote.

In a new interview with PrideSource, Mullally has hinted that the show might return to the airwaves. "All I can say is that there is a very good chance that that might happen. It's not happening right this second. I mean, we're not rehearsing or anything like that. But there is a very good chance that something is going to materialise."

Mullally, who played as Karen in the series, also revealed that Donald Trump’s win in the presidential election means that it couldn’t be a better time for the return of a series that included two openly gay principal characters.

This television series was created by Max Mutchnick and David Kohan. It is about the relationship between best friends Will Truman (Eric McCormack), a gay lawyer, and Grace Adler (Debra Messing), a straight interior designer. When it was still airing, "Will & Grace" was one of the most successful television series. It was also the recipient of 16 Primetime Emmy awards over the course of its run.

“Will & Grace” originally ran on NBC from 1998 to 2006.
