‘Vikings’ season 4 episode 17 theory: Lagertha might not die
“Vikings” season 4 episode 17 will reveal as to what Lagertha's (Katheryn Winnick) fate will be. However, she will stand tall and firm against Ivar (Alex Hogh Andersen), Sigurd (David Lindstom) and Ubbe (Jordan Smith) and Ivar will be keen on killing her, as seen in a promo of the episode. But according to a theory she might not die.
The fate of Lagertha: Will she pay a huge price in Bjorn’s absence?
In the last episode, Ivar confronted Lagertha. He was adamant about taking revenge for his mother Aslaug’s (Alyssa Sutherland) death as well. Meanwhile, Lagertha feared if she is in danger and so asked the Seer (John Kavanagh) about the same. She was told that she will be killed by Ragnar’s sons. Will she die and pay a huge price in Bjorn’s absence?
Will Bjorn and Ivar bond well thereafter?
If Lagertha dies, it is unlikely that Bjorn and Ivar will bond well with each other. However, according to showrunner Michael Hirst, Bjorn will return and join the army. “All the sons will be part of what was called the Great Heathen Army,” he told Variety and also said, “Ivar and Bjorn did actually become more famous than Ragnar.” It remains uncertain if Ivar will change his plans of not killing Lagertha or will Bjorn, and instead, concentrate on their mission to avenge their father’s death.
The Seer has predicted Lagertha’s death. As the Seer was right in predicting Ragnar’s death, it is expected that he may be right this time as well. The question so arises is when Lagertha dies (if at all she has to)?
Speculations are also doing the rounds that Katheryn Winnick is present on the sets of “Vikings” season 5. This hints that she may not die in this season. However, the rumours are all unsubstantial. Hence, nothing can be said to be true as of now. Meanwhile, “Vikings” season 4 episode 17 is scheduled to air on Jan.11 at 9PM ET in the US. The season will air in Australia on SBS One at 8:30PM on the same date.
