Michael Malarkey, who plays Enzo in “The Vampire Diaries,” recently spilled interesting details about his character including “romance stuff” in season 7 of the hit CW series.

In an interview with MTV, the 32 year old actor said that season 7 will actually show a potential love interest for his character, Enzo. He teased that a hint of it will be presented during a flash-forward scene in the series. Malarkey explained that it was a quick scene they shot which “hinted at a couple [of] things.” He did mention that he’s unsure whether it will be a fling or a real love story.

Malarkey added, “[It] is going to be very unexpected to people. So that will be cool. Another layer of the onion has unfolded, and we see another side of Enzo, again.”

When MTV asked Malarkey to describe how his character is when in love, the actor responded by saying that Enzo is an intense character and the type of person who will kill for the one they love. Malarkey continued, “I don’t know if people think that makes a good boyfriend or a bad one, but I think that irrelevant. He’s loyal.”

The actor also told People magazine that season 7 of “The Vampire Diaries” will feature some “sparky romance stuff” between Enzo and another character. Malarkey, however, did not disclose further details on who the other person will be.

Fans of “The Vampire Diaries” has been wondering whether a romantic relationship will form between Malarkey’s Enzo and actress Kat Graham’s Bonnie, in season 7 of the series. In the MTV interview, the British actor and singer did not mention the possibility of a love-line between the two although he did hint that he and Graham will have “fun” and “exciting” scenes together.

Malarkey also gushed to MTV how “fantastic” an actress Graham is and how they’ve been having a “good time” working together. “The stuff we’ve shot together has been really quick and sharp,” he added. “When Kat and I started to work together, there was an immediate kind of energy, and when you work with another actor who spends a lot of time working on the scripts, and wants to run it a lot beforehand, it’s really rewarding.”

“The Vampire Diaries” airs every Thursday in the U.S. on CW and Friday’s in Australia on Fox8.
