Tom Holland has been hitting the gym in preparation for his superhero role as Spider-Man. The actor recently gave fans a look at his flipping skills, which suggest he may be doing his own backflips in the film.

Holland took to his Instagram page to reveal the extent of his preparation for his role as Peter Parker a.k.a. Spider-Man. The 19-year old shared a short video showing him practicing his back flips and high jumps on a rubber matt at a gymnastic facility. Holland displayed impressive acrobatic moves as he somersaults, flips and leaps into the air. According to the Telegraph, his gymnastic moves made him look really perfect for the role as Spider-Man.

The “Spider-Man” star captioned his Instagram video “Thank you @GymaidLtd and GJTC for an awesome day and thank you so much for the awesome Airtrack mat. I can't wait to have a play. It was so good to be back in the gym so thank you thank you thank you for getting me started again!”

A week ago Holland shared a selfie on his Instagram teasing what could be his version of Spider-Man’s look. The actor debuted a new haircut, which reportedly resembles the hairstyle of his comic book counterpart. His hairstyle intrigued his fans who took to his Instagram to comment on its similarity with Spider-Man. A few commentators noted how Holland looks like the Ultimate Spider-Man with his haircut.

Aside from the haircut, Holland also displayed his physical transformation. The 19-year old certainly made sure to develop his arm muscles for his Spider-Man role.

Holland will debut his superhero character in “Captain America: Civil War.” The actor reportedly filmed his scenes for a couple of weeks. But the recent trailer description for the film leaked by Heroic Hollywood made no mention of Holland’s cameo scene as Peter Parker or Spider-Man. Instead, the “Captain America: Civil War” trailer that’s expected to be released with theatre screenings of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” on Dec. 18 only revealed Paul Rudd’s cameo as Scott Lang a.ka. Ant-Man.

Holland has also remained mum on his character’s appearance in “Captain America: Civil War.” But he said in an interview with Hey You Guys (video below) that that he certainly took some inspiration from Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in his portrayal of Spider-Man in the film.
