“Supergirl” is bringing a familiar face in the person of Kevin Sorbo. The “Hercules” actor has landed a recurring role in the second half of the series’ sophomore run. Following the announcement, Sorbo has teased fans about what to expect from his role in the CW series and revealed that Teri Hatcher’s character will be his wife.

Previous reports claim that he will be playing a mysterious new villain in the show. Sorbo has dropped more details about his role at the Directors Guild of America (DGA) Awards on Feb. 4.

He revealed that his character is from a different planet that is an archrival planet of Krypton. Sorbo did not provide a name for his character.

The 58-year-old has also revealed that he was supposed to play Clark in “Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman” in 1993. But he said his role was cancelled and Dean Cain took over. The actor has not elaborated how that happened during his interview. But he said that if things went differently, it would be a superhero reunion for him and Hatcher, who played the titular half of "Lois and Clark."

Although Sorbo did not star in “Lois and Clark,” he said he was okay with it, per Entertainment Weekly. Three months after he did not get the role, he landed the starring role in “Hercules.”

The actor also appeared as Professor Radisson in the 2014 film “God's Not Dead.” In 2011, he played in Holt Blanchard film “Soul Surfer." He then appeared as himself in television show “Don't Trust the B.” The actor has been recognised for his acting in “What If” with a Grace Award for Most Inspiring Movie Acting.

Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg has earlier confirmed the casting of Sorbo in “Supergirl” season 2. In a statement, Kreisberg has recognised that since his days as “Hercules,” Sorbo has had strong screen presence. He believed that viewers could not be more excited to have Sorbo in the series.

He shared that he will be in Vancouver to take care of a three-show arc. As to which episode of “Supergirl” season 2 his character will appear is still unknown.

News about his involvement in “Supergirl” came after reports that Hatcher has landed a villain role. Her casting in the series has reunited her with former onscreen partner Cain. In the series, Cain is the father of Kara (Melissa Benoist). “Supergirl” season 2 airs in Australia every Tuesday at 9:10 a.m. on Fox8.
