An interesting scene in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will reportedly pay homage to Obi-Wan Kenobi. This scene will especially feature a familiar item that once belonged to the legendary Jedi Master.

Jason Ward from Making Star Wars recalled hearing an interesting piece of information about the Millennium Falcon scene involving Finn, Rey, Han Solo and Chewbacca. Following their fight against the enemies aboard a gigantic freighter, where Chewbacca gets wounded and sustains an injury to his arm, the team escapes in the Millennium Falcon. It’s supposedly during this scene where Obi-Wan Kenobi’s remote makes a cameo appearance.

While Finn is tending to Chewbacca’s wounds and making small talk with the pilot inside the Millennium Falcon, he notices a bag near Chewie’s feet. “He casually picks the bag up and opens it while chatting and fiddles with the remote Luke Skywalker trains with in A New Hope,” Ward said. Finn supposedly found the item uninteresting. After tending to Chewbacca’s wounds he puts the remote back inside the bag.

According to Jason Ward, Obi-Wan Kenobi’s remote may have been placed in this particular “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” scene as a “remember when” Easter egg. Other than that Finn finding the remote could supposedly tease his fate in the movie.

“It might be a bit of foreshadowing that Finn isn’t destined to follow the way of the lightsaber. Or it might mean this stuff is coming to him because he was destined to find it all,” Ward added.

Likewise, Finn finding Obi-Wan Kenobi’s remote inside the Millennium Falcon could supposedly tell his potential future as a Resistance Fighter or Jedi Knight. There have reportedly been speculations of Finn being more naturally attuned in the ways of the Force. However, rumours have it this scenario will be further explored in “Star Wars: Episode VIII” and not in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

John Boyega plays the role of Finn in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” a Stormtrooper who eventually ended up with the Rebels. It’s uncertain whether he was good to begin with and was merely put in the wrong side of the team, or someone who became good in the end. Apparently, per Entertainment Weekly, movie director J.J. Abrams wants viewers to learn more about Finn’s true nature when the movie hits theatres on Dec. 18, 2015.
