"Star Wars The Force Awakens" has revealed the character names of its actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley and Oscar Isaac via a set of trading cards. The new football-like droid and the Sith Warrior wielding a cross-shaped lightsaber that were seen in the film's official trailer (released last Nov. 28, 2014), have also been named. According to Entertainment Weekly, "Star Wars The Force Awakens" co-writer and director J.J. Abrams and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy exclusively revealed the new character names to them through retro trading cards. Boyega's character is Finn, Ridley's character is Rey and Isaac's character is Poe Dameron. As for the droid, he is called BB:8, while the Sith warrior is named Kylo Ren.

Aside from the aforementioned trading cards, other "Star Wars The Force Awakens" trading cards have also been revealed including one that shows stormtroopers as they prepare for battle, X-Wings in formation and the Millennium Falcon.

"Star Wars The Force Awakens" also features Lupita Nyong'o, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, Max von Sydow, Domhnall Gleeson, Andy Serkis, Crystal Clarke, Pip Andersen, Christina Chong, Miltos Yerolemou, Jessica Henwick, Warwick Davis, Greg Grunberg and Billie Lourd (Carrie Fisher's daughter). However, their character names have yet to be revealed.

Aside from the newbies, the original "Star Wars" cast including Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia Organa Solo), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), and Kenny Baker (R2-D2) will also be seen in "Star Wars The Force Awakens."

The seventh installment of the "Star Wars" franchise will be released in theatres on Dec. 18, 2015. It is set approximately 30 years after Darth Vader's death in "Return of the Jedi," which was released in the U.S. on May 25, 1983. After "Star Wars The Force Awakens," there will be two more "Star Wars" films, "Star Wars" Episode VIII and "Star Wars" Episode IX. The official titles and release dates of these "Star Wars" sequels have yet to be announced.
