Well over a few days since its release, “Star Wars Battlefront” has been subjected to first impressions both by players and several websites. The game that is the sequel to the very successful “Star Wars Battlefront II” looks to be a refreshing take on the franchise but it’s lackluster in some aspects as well.

Several websites have already begun releasing their reviews on “Star Wars Battlefront” to give fans and interested gamers a glimpse of what the game is like. Overall, the game is indeed and excellent shooter. It is a totally different take on the genre by taking on a formula that has been used throughout other hit shooters.

It features an array of modes for players to get their hands on including Walker Assault, Drop Zone, Supremacy and the eagerly anticipated Heroes vs. Villains mode. Despite the great gameplay and game modes, the game itself lacks depth. Many reviewers have pointed out that the game begins to lose its appeal after hours of playing. The scores from some sites are seen here below:

  • Gamespot – 7/10
  • Giant Bomb – 3/5
  • GamesRader+ - 4/5
  • Videogamer – 7/10
  • Metro – 8/10
  • Destructoid – 6/10

The game does good as a shooter and it does capture the appeal and aura of the massive “Star Wars” universe, Gamespot notes. It captures the vast snowy landscape of Hoth, the forested areas of Endor, the scorching dessert of Tatooine and more. Sadly, the game still lacks a lot of content to that of its predecessor. In fact, the new title only tackles the original trilogy while “Star Wars Battlefront II” put all of the six films in one game.

What’s good is that the game performs well, Eurogamer reports. The PlayStation 4 version of “Star Wars Battlefront” performs well even when 40 players are in one game.
