Recently launched Samsung Galaxy Note Edge with a curved-display pertaining to AT&T and T-Mobile made it to the FCC. However now, the Sprint version of the Note Edge was also spotted in the site. The unique selling point of this device is the curved screen that comes with a thin strip of bent-glass, which can display notifications, virtual controls, news, stock information and scores.

Out of the four major carriers in the U.S., the device will be offered by the three aforementioned carriers and hence the release date could be anytime soon. On the flip side, Samsung hinted earlier that the Galaxy Note Edge will be a "limited edition" handset. A total of 1 million units of the phablet will be sold by the end of 2014, according to Phone Arena.

The company also mentioned the difficulties in manufacturing the curved-display of the Note Edge. Speaking of the sibling Galaxy Note 4, earlier reports suggested that Samsung will release the Note 4 prior to the schedule mainly because of the strong competition from Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus handsets. The iPhone 6's unprecedented number of pre-order storm is quoted as one of the reasons behind this move, says Phone Arena.

With the prevailing competition, the Note Edge will hit the store shelves in its homeland South Korea by October end. Nonetheless, the exact release dates pertaining to other regions is not clear at this point. The same site also says that the Note Edge will be heavily-priced when compared to the Galaxy Note 4. As mentioned earlier, this is due to the one-of-a-kind, technically challenging curved-screen design. In the case of Russia, the handset will be released sometime in November or December for a price of RUB 49,990 that roughly translates to $1218.

Early reviews and opinions have been mixed thus far, with reviewers and analysts supposing that habituating to the curved-display could be a major hurdle for many uninitiated users. As far as the key specification goes, the Note Edge will feature a 5.6-inch Super AMOLED display complemented by Quad HD+ resolution and a 2.7 GHz quad-core processor under the hood. Furthermore, the device will run on Android v4.4 KitKat OS with 4G LTE and 4G LTE Advanced (LTE Cat. 6) connectivity options on board. When it comes to camera configuration, the device will sport a 16 MP rear-facing unit with Smart OIS along with a 3.7 MP secondary shooter with f/1.9 lens.
