Apple unveiled its next-generation iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 on Oct. 16 at a special event. Following the announcement, the current-generation Apple iPad Air, iPad Mini 2 and iPad Mini are getting the much-awaited price cut.

The iPad Air from 2013 and the iPad Mini tablet with Retina display, also widely referred as the iPad mini 2, will be available for purchase even when the brand new tablets hit the store shelves shortly. Plus, the tablets will be cheaper than the upgraded and improved iPad line of tablets waiting to be released. Very interestingly, the 2012 iPad Mini can also be availed with discounts, according to GSM Arena.

Therefore, the Apple iPad Mini (2012) can be purchased for as low as US$249. Apple iPad Mini 2 (with Retina), on the other hand, is priced at US$299. Meaning, the new iPad Mini 3 will cost US$100 more than the iPad Mini 2. Meanwhile, the original Apple iPad Air will set the buyers back by US$399. This is a US$100 reduction from the recently introduced iPad Air 2.

Moving on to the news on the latest Apple tablets, the 16 GB iPad Air 2 tablet will start to retail at US$499. The 64 GB version, meanwhile, will be priced at US$599. Additionally, the LTE variant will set the buyers back by US$130 extra on the aforementioned prices. It is worth noting that, Apple bumped off the 32 GB variant this time around, says GSM Arena.

In the case of the Apple iPad Mini 3, the 16 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB models can be availed for US$400, US$500 and US$600, respectively. Speaking of LTE variant, the device will cost the buyers extra US$130 from the prices mentioned above. Readers should note that there is a new "Gold" coloured version apart from the standard Silver and Space Gray hues, reports GSM Arena.
