Three Models Of China's Xiaomi Mi Phones Are Pictured During Their Launch
Three models of China's Xiaomi Mi phones are pictured during their launch in New Delhi July 15, 2014. China's Xiaomi said it intends to invest heavily in India as the budget smartphone maker launched on Tuesday its flagship Mi phone and other products in the world's third largest smartphone market, currently dominated by Samsung Electronics Co Ltd. With the buzz around the Xiaomi Mi4 smartphone almost over, the company is back in news with a brand new phone dubbed Redmi Note 2. Apparently, the Redmi Note 2 is aimed to take down another Chinese handset Meizu MX4. Only recently, the MX4 has started making its presence felt outside China by starting international pre-order option. It is worth noting that the MX4 scored high rating in AnTuTu benchmark test.

Recently leaked images showcase the back panel of the upcoming Note 2. The dimensions of the rear panel measurement stand at 159 x 82 mm. However, the structure of the camera outlet and the flash place holder point to a different design philosophy unlike the other Xiaomi devices released this year, according to Phone Arena.

Moving on to key specifications, the unannounced Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 will reportedly feature a 5.5-inch display. The handset will be powered an octa-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 615) Cortex-A53 64-bit processor. It is worth noting that, the HTC Desire 820 uses the same processor as the Note 2. Plus, the smartphone will be backed by a good 2 GB of RAM and will sport a solid 13 MP rear-facing camera unit along with a rumoured dual-LED flash, says GSM Arena.

Furthermore, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 will reportedly be priced at CNY 1,500 that roughly translates to US$244 and AU$280. Apparently, the quoted price is 50% more than the original Redmi Note released in March. Interested readers should check out the rear shell of the Redmi handset from Phone Arena.

The original Redmi Note released only in selected regions comes with the same 5.5-inch IPS LCD display, 720 x 1,280 pixels resolution and dual-SIM support. This handset comes with an octa-core (Mediatek MT6592) Cortex-A7 processor, instead of the Qualcomm processor. Moreover, the 13 MP seen in the upcoming device is the same in the original device as well. Plus, there is also a 5 MP front-facing shooter for selfies. The phone runs on Android v4.2 Jelly Bean OS and comes equipped with 8 GB internal storage capacity and microSD card support for expansion up to 32 GB. The highlight, however, is the killer battery of Li-Po 3200 mAh unit.
