When Sony had introduced the Xperia X, Xperia XA, and Xperia X Performance smartphones earlier this year, it had also announced that it has axed the Xperia Z lineup. Now, speculations suggest that Sony will be also axing its other smartphone series such as Xperia C, Xperia M and Xperia E.

According to Xperia Blog, Sony is speculated to have cancelled its Xperia C and Xperia M lineup. The Japanese company is expected to mainly concentrate on Xperia X series until 2018. Slash Gear has reported that the company has also retired the Xperia E lineup.

Recently, the rumour mill had revealed leaked photos of the alleged Xperia C6 Ultra along with its specifications. However, fresh speculations suggest that it will be launched as Xperia X Ultra.

Even though Sony had been launching Xperia Z flagship smartphones and budget phones through Xperia C, M, and E since the past few years, its mobile business has been consistently suffering to generate profits. Hence, the company has revamped its mobile business by launching the Xperia X lineup.

The unreleased Sony Xperia X Ultra will be equipped with a huge display of 6 inches that will support full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The device will be powered by MediaTek MT6755 chipset that includes a quad-core processor that clocks at 1.29 GH along with Mali-T860 graphics.

The MediaTek chipset will be coupled with 2 GB of RAM. It is expected to come with a native storage of 16 GB. For photography, it is expected to house a 20-megapixel shooter along with front-facing LED flash.

The Xperia X Performance is the 2016 flagship smartphone of the company that comes with a full HD screen of 5 inches. It is powered by Snapdragon 820 chipset and 3 GB of RAM. Its internal storage is 32 GB and it also features a microSD card slot. It is packed with a 2700 mAh battery.
