Bindi Irwin, daughter of the late Australian wildlife expert Steve Irwin, recently made headlines for passing her driving test and getting her licence.

The 17-year-old celebrity took to Instagram to share the news with her followers. She posted a photo of herself holding up her new "P" plate, which stands for provisional driver. She was also seen standing next to the Queensland constable, who was the one who gave her the test. Thank you so much to Constable Joshua Little and Queensland Police for testing me today and giving me my license,” she wrote.

Bindi also reminisced about her father, as she used his utility vehicle for the exam. "It was wonderful to take my test in St George and pass the first time and in my Dad's giant old ute!" she wrote. In 2006, Australia Zoo workers gathered around the very same vehicle to honour Steve during his memorial service.

Various media organisations immediately picked up the story, reporting on Bindi’s latest achievement. However, the publicity did not bode well for social media users, who claimed that the news did not deserve much attention. Some even turned sarcastic about the issue.

Facebook user Ashley Walker commented, “ Something that will have massive and far reaching [consequences] for future generations both in the private and economic sector gets 15 seconds of air time with no [explanation] to people what will happen with this new legislation and no clarifications as to what it means, yet a kid who gets her license gets a lot longer air time because [that’s] what [people] want to see?”

Facebook user Paul Michael Brown, on the other hand, commented: “ Slow News Day... Bindi Irwin: Daughter of Steve Irwin Says She Has Passed Her Driving Test”

Jenna Amy also wrote, “When Bindi Irwin passes her provisional driving test and Australia want nothing more then to learn how she went.#australiasweetheart #Iactuallywatcheddancingwiththestars”

Meanwhile, Kevin Bee wrote, “Just a straw poll. The media report that Bindi Irwin has passed her driving test. Really. Hands up who cares.”

Over on Twitter, users also had similar reactions.

One of Bindi’s most notable appearances was when she won in the reality TV show “Dancing with the Stars” or “DWTS” Season 21, with her partner Derek Hough.
