Kate Middleton picked the creative director of Alexander McQueen to design her wedding gown. She picked the British brand for its craftsmanship and respect for traditional workmanship. The now Duchess of Cambridge wanted the dress to exude tradition and modernity, which best describes Alexander McQueen.

Now, Sarah Burton, the designer behind the famous gown, talks about how she feels creating the royal wedding dress. The designer said that the wedding gown and her identity as the designer was in strict secrecy until the wedding took place April 29.

"It was so great to actually keep a secret, especially in this day and age when everyone talks about everything," Burton said in her interview with UK Vogue.

"I remember standing in Westminster Abbey thinking, 'This is unreal.' It was like a fairy tale. And all I could think was, 'I hope I don't trip over.'... It was a magical experience," the designer recalled.

The wedding gown was crafted exquisitely in lace and satin with a train 2 meters long. Kate did her own make up for her wedding and she did it wonderfully. The Duchess looked simply elegant and royalty as she walked down the aisle.

The wedding dress went on display at the Buckingham Palace for its summer exhibition where nearly 600,000 paid for £17.50 to take a look at it.
