The Samsung Galaxy S6 is reportedly difficult to fix. According to the experts, this particular unit will be much harder to repair, which means that the shop will be charging a much heftier price for it – assuming that the unit’s warranty has already expired.

The experts at iFixit have advised Samsung Galaxy S6 users to take care of their units to avoid such predicament, and gave the device a rating of 4 out of 10, with regards to its repairability. However, iFixit did commend the Korean tech company for the modular nature of the components that were used – making them easily replaceable.

The only problems with the components that they did mention was that the glass panels that can be found on the exterior part of the device make the Galaxy S6 more difficult to open. Apparently, the glue that was used to keep them together was far too adhesive. The added force that has to be applied for opening the device might result in breakage.

This means that fixers might have to replace the entire display even if the glass portion that covers the screen was the only thing that needed replacing.

“Replacing the glass without destroying the display is probably impossible,” iFixit said, according to Uber Gizmo.

It is worth noting, however, that the Galaxy S6 also has some redeeming qualities. Unlike its Edge variant, its battery can be replaced without having to remove the motherboard. The only obstacle for this repair is the strong adhesive that was used to keep it from falling apart.

Still, despite the Galaxy S6’s low repairability score, it has been reviewed as a very efficient smartphone, especially with regards to its performance and its design. Multiple reports have even stated that Samsung is presently experiencing a struggle with meeting the public’s demand. It is assumed that, although they purposely made the unit to beat its rivals in the smartphone race, Samsung might not have expected their units to become sold-out as quickly as they did.
