The Galaxy S6 Edge might be out of stock before this year ends. It has been dominating in its field since the model was launched, but, it would appear that Samsung undermined its salability and had not expected the curved screen smartphone to be so high in demand.

JK Shin has admitted that it was very difficult to manufacture curved touch screens, according to The Guardian. That said, they had not expected the Galaxy S6 Edge units to sell off the racks so quickly in time for the company to come up with a new batch. With this predicament, Yibada is convinced that the Korean tech company might not be able to supply the demand of the consumers for the next several weeks, at least.

Samsung had originally released the curved smartphone, with curves rolling over both its left and right sides, as the higher priced variant of the regular flat-screened Galaxy S6. According to the report, the Galaxy S6 was expected to be the more dominant model of the two.

Lee Sang-chul, the head of the company’s mobile marketing unit, stated that they are expecting the Galaxy S6 to set a sales record for their Galaxy line of devices. However, Galaxy S6 Edge had higher numbers of pre-orders in mobile phone operators and various U.K. retailers.

“Some carriers are switching existing orders to get more of the S6 Edge,” said HMC Investment analyst Greg Roh. “It looks like demand for the model will exceed supply throughout this year. that means average selling price will fall at a slower rate, which will have a positive impact on Samsung overall.”

Moreover, News Hub has reported that Samsung had only specified that production will only be low “for a while.” This means that this will only be a temporary hurdle for the tech company.
