Since the Kate Middleton's wedding gown went on display at the Buckingham Palace, ticket sales have already summed up to more than £15m.

Tourists and fashion fans from all over the globe are flocking to Buckingham Palace to catch a glimpse of the Duchess' wedding ensemble now on display. Just as predicted, the most talked-about royal fashion exhibit of the year is a success, with tickets selling out as early as lunchtime. The showcase features a full display of Middleton's wedding grown designed by Sarah Burton for the British label Alexander McQueen, as well as the diamond tiara, earrings, and shoes the Duchess wore during her special day with Britain's Prince William.

"We have been selling out by lunchtime. The wedding attracted worldwide interest so it's only natural that many people want to come and take a closer look at the Duchess of Cambridge's dress," says a spokesperson of the Palace to The Daily Mail. A ticket to view the royal wedding showcase costs £17.50, while a complete tour (including a visit to the Queen's gallery) of the palace will cost a visitor £31.

"The dress has a great appeal. The summer opening of Buckingham Palace is the hottest ticket in town. We are thrilled so many people have visited," added the Royal spokesperson. Before the exhibit went public, the Queen had a chance to see the wedding dress on a headless mannequin and described it as "very creepy" and "horrible." Despite these comments from Britain's most powerful woman, the exhibit is still expected to attract more than five million visitors from the country and around the globe.

Ticket proceeds will be used for the curation and preservation of the Royal Collection which includes a vast number of paintings, sculptures, exquisite jewellery and royal residences.
