Details about Alan Tudyk’s character in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” have surfaced online. Details about the costume of the new Shadow Troopers in the movie have also been revealed in a new report.

[Spoiler alert]

According to a report by Making Star Wars, Tudyk will be playing the role of an Enforce Droid in the movie. The Empire appears to have built a few “Super Battle Droids” and the Rebels will reportedly manage to capture one and reprogram it, to help them in their mission.

The droid will assist the team assembled by the Rebels. Their main mission is to steal the plans of the Death Star super weapon that the Empire is building, in order to help the Rebels study it and try to find a weakness.

Tudyk’s character in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” is described as looking “scary.” The design of the droid’s face is said to be a mix of the EV-9D9 and the robot in the animation movie “Iron Giant.” The droid is said to have a smaller neck, when compared to the classic Battle Droid.

The body of the droid is said to be similar in design to Ralph McQuarrie’s designs for IG-88. The droid will still carry the Imperial cog symbol on its shoulder and will have a barrel chest.

Meanwhile, another report by Making Star Wars reveals details about the helmet of the Shadow Troopers of the Death Squad. The report reveals that a small green light is placed near the eye in the helmet. The light is expected to be used as a targeting system by the Troops. The report also reveals that the black Stormtroopers’ helmet will have speaker nodes with an illuminated green light.

“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” is slated to be released on Dec. 16, 2016 in Australia and the US. The movie is being directed by Gareth Edwards.
