“Red Dead Redemption 2” is undoubtedly on the wish list of most gamers. And while there has been no shortage of rumours and theories, Rockstar Games has finally given its own hint to the upcoming title -- a mysterious logo that is quite reminiscent of the beloved Western title.

The image gives very little away, but it does hint of the style of “Red Dead Redemption.” The Rockstar Games logo is placed in an obviously red background, which is the same shade as the game title. Its border is slightly faded as well, almost like a cattle branding.

While these things are definitely not confirmation that “Red Dead Redemption 2” is arriving, the connection does not go unnoticed to fans of the franchise. The tease is so evident that it might do Rockstar Games well to officially announce the upcoming game before the end of the month. Having fans wait much longer, with this kind of tease staring them in the face, might only upset them.

In addition to this, there have been various leaks that have indicated “Red Dead Redemption 2” has been in the works for quite a while. The most trustworthy of which is arguably a map, which Tech Radar has confirmed with the help of an independent source. The map is reminiscent of the one found in the original game.

It shows the Great Plains, which is home to the Blackwater settlement, as well as a few railroads. There are less caravan camps scattered around the map, which indicate that there will be less occupancy in the upcoming “Red Dead Redemption 2.” One definite addition, however, are various other islands. While the publication did not state how travel to these islands will occur, the mere thought of water travel in the franchise is exciting in itself.

The publication’s source also confirmed that “Red Dead Redemption 2,” or whatever it will be called, will actually be a prequel to “Red Dead Redemption.”
