Prince Jacques of Monaco took a few steps when he visited a school with his twin sister Princess Gabriella and his parents, Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene on Thursday. It was the twins' first birthday on Dec. 10 and they were given a birthday party. Two tables laid out in white linen, laden with huge cakes one blue and the other pink, marked their birthday.

The tot was dressed in grey pants and navy coat, complete with a black waistcoat, white shirt and black bow-tie. The little royal matched with black shoes and white socks. His sister Gabriella wore a white frock, matching tights and pink buckled shoes.

A video released by MonacoInfo shows the twins looking amused as children and royal fans shook hands and were serenaded by songs. There was another table laid out with lots of desserts for the toddlers. When their parents put them down from their laps, Jacques walked a few wobbly steps ahead with strict monitoring by his mother, People reports.

He showed off his newfound ability to walk on his own to the crowd that gathered to catch a glimpse of the little royal siblings. The twins took centre stage at the surprise birthday celebrations, which took place in Place d’ Armes. The Prince’s Palace of Monaco took to its official page and shared pictures of the visit.

“Cakes ‘cheese cake’ blue and pink had been prepared by the hotel management school of Monaco. The Prince Jacques did some not under the eye protector of his parents,” it captioned a collage of pictures. The photographs have been clicked by Gaétan Luci from Prince’s Palace.

Charlene was dressed in a beige rolled neck jumper with an asymmetrical long skirt. She wore a long off-white coat over her outfit and matching high heels. She accessorised with a pair of pearl earrings and a bangle. The 37-year-old princess wore her signature bold red lipstick and showed off her pixie cut.

Albert was dressed in beige trousers paired with white shirt and a black coat. The 57-year-old Monegasque royal completed his look in a pair of black shoes. The doting father carried his daughter Gabriella, while Charlene held onto Jacques. Albert had told People in November that “good little rugrats” wanted to walk.
