When ABC Family drama “Pretty Little Liars” returns to television screens in January with Season 6B, the liars will be playing their own age. Hanna (Ashley Benson), Emily (Shay Mitchell), Spencer (Troian Bellisario) and Aria (Lucy Hale) tackle a more edgy and deadlier situation in Rosewood. They will be all grown up due to the five-year time leap. The network has released the first promo pictures from the winter premiere.

The pictures feature all the liars after they return to Rosewood. These include close-ups that shows off their new looks, Wetpaint reports. All the girls have changed with Aria sporting lighter hair, Emily a more sophisticated look, Hanna with strong eyebrows and Spencer with bangs.

Also, the audience get a look at Alison (Sasha Pieterse), whose fashionable style has now toned down to a more conservative, teacher-appropriate style, while Mona remains mostly unchanged. The pictures also give us a glimpse of her future husband, Dr. Elliott Rollins.

The girls are seen in court as the sneak peek of the first four minutes of the episode show. They go to court to testify about whether they think CeCe, whose real name is Charlotte (Vanessa Ray in present) and Dylan Garza (in flashback), should be released from the psych ward. Ali wants them to speak out on her sister’s behalf.

The new Season of “Pretty Little Liars” will also show Emily and Spencer to be single, when the teen thriller premieres on Jan. 12. Alison will be engaged and Hanna will be in a relationship with a new man. This Season will feature 30 episodes. A special episode of the series will air on Nov. 24.

Meanwhile, executive producer of the show I. Marlene King dished that there would be a possible movie version of the hit ABC Family show. In an interview on “Good Morning America,” for its 40 anniversary episode on Wednesday, she said that the film will not be released immediately after the “PLL” Season 7, MTV reports.

“I think we’ll take a little break and let everybody go off and do a few things and hopefully we’ll come back together again and do something really special," King added. The series concludes next Season.

“Pretty Little Liars” Season 6B returns on Jan. 12 on Freeform, formerly known as ABC Family, in the U.S.
