John Green's beloved novel, "The Fault in Our Stars" is set for a film adaptation. Like all the other fans of Green's novel, the cast is the most anticipated reveal. Earlier this year, Hailee Steinfeld and Shailene Woodley were first rumoured to play the lead role of Hazel Grace Lancester. Now, rumour has it that "Perks of Being a Wallflower" star, Mae Whitman is in the running for the role.

Time Magazine had named John Green's novel, "The Fault in Our Stars" the book of the year. The book had one of the most compelling stories of which involved two Cancer-stricken teenagers to fall in love. With its emotional honesty, sarcasm and wit, readers had immediately fallen in love with the lead characters, Hazel Grace Lancaster and Augustus "Gus" Waters.

With books turning into film adaptations nowadays, it wasn't much of a surprise when John Green announced that "Fault in Our Stars" would be turned into a movie as well. Of course, fans immediately thought of potential stars to be cast in the film. Logan Lerman is one note-worthy celebrity said to play Augustus Waters.

As for the female lead role of Hazel Grace, Shailene Woodley and Hailee Steinfeld are both rumoured to play the role. Yet, it appears as if Logan's co-star from "Perks", Mae Whitman has a chance at playing Lancster. Fans of "Perks" may recall Whitman as Logan Lerman's first girlfriend in the film

It would fall nothing short of hilarious and interesting to have Mae Whitman play Hazel Grace and Logan Lerman as Augustus Waters. The casting might even be possible given Mae Whitman had expressed interest over the role on her Twitter account.
