John Green's best-selling novel, "The Fault in Our Stars" is set to hit the big screen. Of course, fans are raging over the news and picking their own favourites to play the lead roles of Augustus Waters and Hazel Grace Lancaster. One name making waves to play the role of Hazel Grace is "Super 8" star, Elle Fanning.

"The Fault in Our Stars" has been widely noted and loved due to its' emotional honesty, wit and humour about two Cancer-stricken teenagers falling in love. Readers around the world had fallen in love with the characters Augustus Waters and Hazel Grace Lancaster. In fact, the book had been named number one on Time Magazine's Book of 2012.

For those who have heard of the book only now, the synopsis is as follows:

"Diagnosed with Stage IV thyroid cancer at 13, Hazel was prepared to die until, at 14, a medical miracle shrunk the tumours in her lungs... for now."

"Two years post-miracle, sixteen-year-old Hazel is post-everything else, too; post-high school, post-friends and post-normalcy. And even though she could live for a long time (whatever that means), Hazel lives tethered to an oxygen tank, the tumours tenuously kept at bay with a constant chemical assault."

"Enter Augustus Waters. A match made at cancer kid support group, Augustus is gorgeous, in remission, and shockingly to her, interested in Hazel. Being with Augustus is both an unexpected destination and a long-needed journey, pushing Hazel to re-examine how sickness and health, life and death, will define her and the legacy that everyone leaves behind."

Shailene Woodley was first rumoured to nabbing the role of Hazel Grace in film adaptation of "The Fault in Our Stars." However, with Shailene's line up of films, playing Tris in "Divergent" and Mary Jane in "Amazing Spiderman 2", Woodley is out of the running.

A lot of other celebrities have been mentioned as potential star to play Hazel Grace. These would include Emma Watson of "Harry Potter", Mae Whitman of "Perks of Being a Wallfower", Sami Gayle of "Blue Blood" and Elle Fanning of "Super 8."

Hazel Grace Lancaster has been described as having a fragile appearance with the iconic "chipmunk cheeks." Ironically, Elle Fanning has the same looks except that she's blonde. Still, Fanning could just play the role of Hazel Grace.

With Josh Boone confirmed to direct the film, "The Fault in Our Stars" is the next hype in Hollywood.
