John Green's best-selling novel, "The Fault in Our Stars" is set for a film adaptation. Fans are excited to see the film in action and as always have nominated a few stars who could play the female lead, Hazel Grace Lancaster. Who are these potential actresses that could play the Cancer-stricken teenager, Hazel Grace?

"The Fault in Our Stars" had been Time Magazine's Book of the Year in 2012 and it still continues to be a hot topic among readers. With a film adaptation in the works, fans are highly-anticipating who among Hollywood actors and actresses would be nabbing the lead roles of Augustus Waters and Hazel Grace Lancaster.

Producer Wyck Godfrey is set to work on the film adaptation and according to him Hollywood is filled with "all the actresses who could play Hazel Grace." The big question however who is most suited for the role? Like the beloved "Fifty Shades of Grey" film, a lot of potential actresses have been named to play Hazel Grace.

First off is Elle Fanning. With "chipmunk cheeks" and a fragile appearance, Elle is perfect to play the character of Hazel Grace. Fanning has already proven she has the acting chops for the film as recognised by her role in "Super 8."

Next is "Perks of Being a Wallflower's" Mae Whitman. John Green was more than happy to state that the "Parenthood" actress plays the role of Hazel Grace. A few fans had also nominated Whitman's co-star in "Perks", Emma Watson as a potential star to play Hazel Grace. Yet, Emma might just have to chop off her hair again for the role of Hazel.

Watson's co-star in "Bling Ring", Taissa Farmiga, also holds a bit of potential for the role. Farmiga has already mastered the balance between a jaded skeptic and a hopeful teen which very much describes the character of Hazel Grace.

Other notable names on the list include "Little Miss Sunshine's" Abigail Breslin and Hailee Steinfield. Breslin had already played the role of a Cancer-stricken kid while Steinfield has the right age to play Hazel Grace.

Another name on the list is Sami Gayle. Much less known to the public, Gayle may be seen on "Blue Bloods" playing the role of Nicki Reagan-Boyle. Apart from the paper boy haircut, Gayle has an emotional range to acting suited for the role of Hazel Grace.

With the film still missing a director, fans can only hope that their protégés nab the role of Hazel Grace.
