Actress Caitriona Balfe has teased fans about the upcoming return of “Outlander”. According to the actress, season 3 will be very different.

Balfe told The Wrap in a video interview that the great thing about “Outlander” is that every season, everything sort of gets turned on its head. “I think everyone knows at this point the stories are quite separate. We see a lot of Jamie’s story, and what he has gone through in 20 years. We see a bit of Claire and Frank, Claire and Brianna, and you see a bit of Claire as a professional doctor, surgeon. It’s just so different,” Balfe said.

Many “Outlander” viewers are specifically curious about what’s to come as far as the love story of Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Balfe) is concerned. Balfe hinted that there is going to be a payoff after the lovers were separated in the sophomore season of the show.

On the same interview, Balfe confirmed speculations about the two characters reuniting. She said she thinks the reunion is really beautiful and it’s been filmed really beautifully. Balfe has been nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance in “Outlander.”

In other “Outlander” news, Den of Geek has noted that the next season of the show will introduce two new characters. Hannah James and Tanya Reynolds were picked to portray Dunsany sisters Geneva and Isobel, respectively.

Starz describes Geneva as beautiful as well as headstrong. She is, at the same time, “petulant, spoiled, and demanding,” according to the publication. Geneva, the eldest, gets what she wants.

Isobel, on the other hand, is "warm, friendly, and genuine." Starz shared that she is the more likeable person between the two sisters, as Isobel is more compassionate towards others.

“Outlander” season 3 release date in Australia is yet to be announced.
