Sam Heughan talked about the actions of his character in the recently aired episode of “Outlander” Season 2. The actor revealed that his character’s actions will have “terrible repercussion” in the next episode and teased there are going to be highly emotional scene involving Claire.

In an interview with IGN, Heughan (Jamie Fraser) described his character’s decision to fight Black Jack (Tobias Menzies) as a “huge moment.” The actor explained that Jamie couldn’t help himself after seeing the villain doing “something to someone he loves.” When he sees Fergus (Romann Berrux) at the risk of going through the same thing that he went through; it fills him with rage.

Jamie is so angry with Black Jack that he forgets his promise to Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and decides to duel with the villain. Jamie had previously promised his wife that he would wait for a year and allow Jack to get married and have a child before killing him. This would allow Frank Randall to exist in the future.

But, all the plans go awry in “Outlander” Season 2 episode 6. Heughan said that he understands why Jamie did the things he did in the episode. However, his wife may not be so understanding. Especially since Jamie is sent to jail and this leaves her to deal with the possible loss of their child alone.

Heughan teased that the next episode will deal with the “terrible repercussion” of the events in episode 6. The actor revealed that this will be “a very strong episode” for Balfe and it will showcase some of her best performances till date. The fans should prepare for the emotional episode as it is going to be “sad” and “upsetting.”

"There’s a real brittleness to her when they come back together. It’s so tough, and beautifully played by Caitriona," Heughan said. The events in episode 6 also have an impact on Black Jack. Menzies said that his character’s injury in “Outlander” Season 2 will shatter his confidence.
