Black Jack finally returned in the recently aired episode of “Outlander’ Season 2. Starz has now released a new video online featuring Executive Producer Ronald D. Moore and others talking about the return of the villain and what it means for the show. The preview of episode 6 has also been released online.

[Spoiler alert]

Moore pointed out that the new season began with the main characters assuming that the dreaded villain is dead. It was only later that Claire (Caitriona Balfe) found out through Alex (Laurence Dobiesz) that Black Jack (Tobias Menzies) is still alive. The two later met in France and the villain asked about Jamie (Sam Heughan).

“I think Black Jack is eternally obsessed with Jamie,” Moore said in the video. The producer said that the villain wanted to break and posses Jamie and he got what he wanted in the first season. Menzies explained that his character has a “strange connection” with Claire and Jamie.

“Jamie has suffered a lot of trauma at the hands of Black Jack Randall,” Heughan said. His character now plans to seek revenge on Jack in “Outlander” Season 2 for all the things he did. Claire, however, takes a different view.

If Jamie kills Jack before he is married; then Claire’s first husband Frank will not exist in the future. This, Balfe pointed out, creates a triangle. Her thinking comes at an enormous cost, Moore explained. Claire’s position affects her relationship with Jamie, who desperately wants to kill Black Jack.

Meanwhile, Starz has released the preview video of the next episode. The video shows Jamie being distracted with stopping Prince Charles (Andrew Gower) from getting the money he wants to raise an army. In order to do that; Jamie and Murtagh (Duncan Lacroix) plan to steal and destroy Comte St. Germain’s (Stanley Weber) shipment in the next episode of “Outlander” Season 2.
