The Android-based OnePlus One smartphone has landed itself in hot water again. Apparently, there are several complaints stating that buyers have received "used or refurbished phones" from OnePlus. Since the said problem started getting media attention, the company has slammed the report stating that the allegation is not true.

OnePlus has listed down a total of seven complaints where the buyers claimed that they have received refurbished OnePlus One phones. Reportedly, this problem started when the customers noticed the phones getting delivered in open boxes. In other cases, there were scratches on the units and some customers noticed several saved photos on the new device. There have also been cases where the OS had already been set up. Lastly, there was a case, where an extra screen protector was part of the phone set, according to GSM Arena.

The company took to the official forum and justified some of the seven cases with explanations. However, several cases are being looked upon, and hence there is no justification at this point. In any case, the company was prompt to emphasise the fact that the shipped units were not refurbished ones.

In addition to offering explanation for almost all seven cases, the company concluded by saying the following to its customer base: "Out of 500,000+ devices sold, seven people claimed to have used or refurbished devices. Some of the claims were more substantial than others. While we take full responsibility for any possible dust and/or scratch issues a couple of these customers experienced, all of the devices were brand new. Out of over 500,000 devices, a handful perhaps slipped by quality control and were sent out with minor imperfections, but they were in no way used or refurbished."

OnePlus also apologised for any inconvenience caused by the speculation. Interested readers can check out the official statement from OnePlus' website.

Apart from the OnePlus One shipping problem, the much-awaited successor OnePlus Two is in the offing. Apparently, the company will be offering three devices: two smartphones and a tablet, says NDTV. According to the NDTV, the reported OnePlus Two specifications from the Chinese website Coolicool include a 5.5-inch display, Snapdragon 805 processor, 32 GB of internal storage capacity, 16 MP rear-facing camera unit and a 5 MP front-facing snapper. In addition, the device will be backed by a solid 3,300 mAh battery unit. Moreover, the phone will reportedly support 4G LTE, GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Micro-USB and OTG connections.
