Even though the flagship killer OnePlus One comes bundled with everything a high-end smartphone should house, the company's invitation-only purchase model was a huge disappointment. Realising the mistake quite late, OnePlus announced last month that it would opt for pre-order/flash sale purchase model rather than the invitation-based model. And several days back, the company did open its pre-order window for the first time to anybody that would like to purchase this incredible handset. However, the whole pre-order system and the environment did not help the company in its first attempt.

The initial plan of one hour of keeping the pre-order window live went on for three hours. Apparently, the time-frame was not enough for all the interested buyers to place an order. In order to get back the disgruntled customers, the company has announced the next round of pre-orders starting on Nov. 17. This window will be active from 15:00 GMT, however, OnePlus has not announced the duration of the pre-order window as yet, according to GSM Arena.

The silver lining from the first attempt is that, rough estimates of tens of thousands of OnePlus One handsets were ordered and they are on its way to customers' door steps. The problems encountered during the pre-order window were mainly due to unprecedented amount of traffic. Hopefully, the company will be well prepared to counter the aforementioned problem with the next round of sale.

On its official blog, the company did mention that the wait for the second round of sale provides them enough time to keep essential stock and also to make some infrastructure changes. Potential buyers should check out the official blog of OnePlus, because the company has answered many questions that buyers might have.

Key specifications of the OnePlus One include a humongous 5.5-inch LTPS LCD display packed with an impressive resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels, a quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 801) Krait 400 processor clocked at 2.5 GHz and a solid 3 GB of RAM. The phone runs on Android v4.4.2 KitKat OS (Upgradable to v4.4.4) with CyanogenMod 11S. Furthermore, the One comes equipped with 16 GB and 64 GB of internal storage with no microSD card slot. Speaking of camera, there is a good 13 MP rear-facing unit with dual-LED flash and a surprisingly good 5 MP shooter for selfies. The under the hood configurations are held together by an astounding 3,100 mAh battery unit. Lastly, the NFC support completes the flagship killer.

Did you attempt to buy the OnePlus One during its first attempt? If not, are you planning to buy this time around? Feel free to leave a comment.
