With the long-lost mojo back in place, BlackBerry has released the luxurious Porsche Design P'9983 smartphone. This handset is similar to the Passport in many ways, however, it is smaller and comes with a standard physical QWERTY keyboard.

It is worth noting that, the Porsche Design P'9883 is the first handset to run on the latest BlackBerry OS v10.3. Unlike the Passport with its unique "square" design, the Porsche device is easy to hold in the hands. Speaking of exterior design, the smartphone comes with a glossy, plastic finish, and the carbon-fibre pattern on the rear panel looks phenomenal. However, the handset is fingerprint and smudge prone, according to Phone Arena.

Key specifications of the BlackBerry Porsche Design P'9983 handset include a 3.1-inch Super AMOLED display bundled with a screen resolution of 720 x 720 pixels. The display is not as sharp and refined as the Passport; nevertheless, it looks good and the handset is not bulky. As readers might have already known, the Super AMOLED display technology, predominantly seen in Samsung devices, offers over-saturated colours and gives wide viewing angles. Furthermore, the phone comes equipped with a physical portrait-style keyboard that offers a fourth row accommodating the space bar and shift key for easy typing. The fourth row is exactly what is missing in the Passport, even though the phablet is an incredible choice for business users.

On the hardware side, this handset is powered by a dual-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus) processor, clocked at 1.5 GHz and backed by a good 2GB of RAM. With a cool 64 GB internal storage capacity, the device also comes with microSD card support for expansion up to 128 GB. In addition, it supports NFC and 4G LTE, among other standard connectivity options. An 8 MP primary camera unit with LED flash rules the rear and a 2 MP shooter is provided for selfies at the front.

Lastly, the handset is held together by a Li-Ion 2100 mAh battery unit. This battery can provide up to 14 hours of 3G talk time and 288 hours of 3G stand-by time. Moving on to the price details, the BlackBerry Porsche Design P'9983 is heavily-priced at US$1950, thanks to the Porsche design and logo.
