One Direction capped off five years in the music industry, prior the band’s planned hiatus, with an emotional performance during the “X Factor UK” grand finals held on Sunday at the Wembley Arena.

The four-member boy band comprised of Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne had their final scheduled performance as a band in the show which jumpstarted their career,“X Factor UK.” One Direction wowed the audience when they performed two songs from their “Made in the A.M.” album, namely “Infinity” and “History,” Evening Standard reports.

One Direction even received a touching video tribute from Simon Cowell and other stars such as Robbie Williams, David Beckham, James Corden, 5 Seconds of Summer, Little Mix and many more. “X Factor UK” showrunner Cowell stated during Sunday’s show that the four-member band were an “absolute pleasure to work with” and that they deserve their upcoming break. He also recounted how he first met the then five solo male singers which initially comprised One Direction. “I never could have predicted what happened next,” he added.

In the video tribute, Corden told One Direction to “please don’t go away for too long,” according to the Evening Standard report. Meanwhile, Beckham’s video message was both touching and funny, as he sang along to “Steal My Girl” while in his car. He told One Direction that the band has “given so much to so many people," before joking that the band would "need to come back soon or you’re going to have more videos like that.”

Cowell was also one of the celebrities who left One Direction a message in the video clip. He told the four band members to “enjoy the time off” and to have a “fantastic time.” He even applauded One Direction for their accomplishments in the past five years and shared that he was proud of the band. “I’ll always be here,” he added.

Meanwhile, One Direction took to Twitter on Monday and uploaded a video message to thank their fans for their support, Entertainment Weekly reports. One Direction band member Payne acted as the representative of the group when he gave a “massive thank you” to the band’s fans.

“Today’s a very special day for us because this is like the last part of our first chapter. But a massive thank you, honestly... You’re amazing, the most dedicated people I think we’ve ever seen in our lives, so thank you for enjoying us over the years. And I hope there’s many more years to come.”
