Nokia officially confirmed the availability of the Nokia Lumia 720 smart phone in Australia this April 2013. According to Steve Lewis, the managing director of Nokia Australia, the Nokia Lumia 720 availability is vital for the Finnish company's approach in bringing the Windows Phone to more device consumers.

"As we continue to grow our smart phone offering, devices such as the Lumia 720 give breadth and depth to our Windows Phone 8 portfolio. With smart phone adoption continuing to grow in Australia, consumers want more choice at different price-points," Lewis stated.

The Nokia Australia managing director further added: "Smart phones like the Lumia 720 are critical to Nokia's strategy as they allow us to bring familiar features such as high-end design, quality hardware, unparalleled imaging capabilities and a rich navigation experience to a wider audience."

The Nokia Windows Phone will reportedly be offered on a selection of plans at Vodafone and Virgin Mobile in the coming weeks and can be purchased as well with an outright price of $429. Virgin Mobile began selling the Nokia Lumia 720 last April 4 while Vodafone will still announce the smart phone's availability in the coming days.

Nokia further announced that other selected retailers will receive the Nokia Lumia 720 stock on Wednesday, April 10. During its debut at the 2013 Mobile World Congress in Spain, the Nokia Lumia 720 appeared with a 4.3-inch WVGA Clear Black display with 480x800p resolution covered in Gorilla Glass 2.0.

The Nokia smart phone has a 1GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 512MB of RAM, built-in NFC connectivity, 8GB of internal storage capacity and a microSD card slot to expand storage capacity. Nokia declared that the Lumia 720 smart phone can provide users with the "best camera experience."

Nokia Lumia 720 features a 6.7MP rear-facing camera with the Carl Zeiss lens and f/1.9 aperture that can capture high quality images even with low-lighting conditions. A wireless charging option can be utilized as well with the purchase of the Nokia Lumia 720 snap-on cover.
