Speculation is rife in the media that Nick Jonas' new song “Area Code” has reference to his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez. The 22-year-old singer dropped a surprise track titled "Area Code" on SoundCloud Saturday night and part of the new song's lyrics have reference to Gomez's recent hit, “Good For You.”

"You say I never been good for you, you can't deny I gave it good to you," Jonas sings. Though Jonas has not officially confirmed that “Area Code” has reference to his ex-girlfriend, his online actions seems to suggest so. Daily News has a screen shot of recently favorited tweet from one of his fans, where the fan talks about his connection to Gomez's song.

Jonas dated the “Come and Get It” singer in 2008 but their relationship ended when Gomez started dating Justin Bieber. However, the former Disney stars rekindled their romance once again this year when they were spotted enjoying a quiet dinner in Los Angeles some time back. Both of them are yet to confirm the romance rumours.

When Jonas was asked about how he felt reuniting with Gomez after a long time, the singer decided to play coy. "It was nice to connect and just catch up," he told Capital FM DJ, according to the website. "I'll leave it there."

The two artists were also spotted laughing and sharing some romantic moments together at the MTV Video Music Awards night on Aug. 31. Meanwhile, Jonas also gushed about Gomez's best friend, Taylor Swift, in his recent interview. “Taylor Swift is great for a night out as it includes a lot of tequila,” Jonas said, according to Dallas Daily Gazette.

“It’s all about good friends and celebrating friendship, it’s such a positive environment to be a part of. She’s great,” he said. Swift and Gomez are often spotted hanging out together and it would not come as a surprise if Jonas joins them too.
