“NCIS” season 14 episode 22 will air on CBS on April 18. There is no new episode this Tuesday, April 11. Fans are expected to miss Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and his team. Next week’s episode is called “One Book, Two Covers.” NCIS Special Agent Nicholas "Nick" Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) is at the center here, and he is likely to observe Gibbs’ Rule Number 38: your case, your lead.

Editor’s note: This article contains “NCIS” season 14 spoilers from the network’s episode synopsis. Australian viewers can watch “NCIS” Tuesday nights on Network Ten.

“Torres must rely on old case notes and contacts after a Marine's murder is linked to a former dirt bike gang he joined for a year-long undercover operation,” states the CBS synopsis. Gibbs’ team has to refer to Torres’ old notes, so fans are thinking this could very well be Torres’ case if Rule No. 38 would apply.

The episode title “One Book, Two Covers” is believed to be directly related to Torres’ undercover days. It remains to be seen whether his budding bromance with MI6 Officer Clayton Reeves (Duane Henry) would get more screen time in this episode.

‘NCIS’ season 14 finale without Michael Weatherly, Tony DiNozzo

Avid fans of “NCIS” are counting down the days leading to the air date of “NCIS” season 14 finale. This is the first ever season closing episode without Michael Weatherly’s Tony DiNozzo. While some fans are hoping DiNozzo would come to visit with baby Talia, others are convinced that the CBS series would be all right without the former senior field agent.

Meanwhile, Weatherly’s “Bull” series on CBS is doing very well. It ranks third among scripted series, pulling in around 11 million viewers with each new episode. As central character Dr. Jason Bull, Weatherly has proved to fans that an actor can be much bigger than the role he is playing.

In a media interview, Weatherly has joked that it would be interesting to see his Bull character in the NCIS universe. It can also be the other way around, as the NCIS characters can somehow land in Bull’s realm. For now, however, fans can watch both shows in the same network on Tuesday nights.

Ratings Update: ‘The Voice’ 2017 wins against ‘NCIS’

Around 13.8 million viewers watched “NCIS” season 14 episode 20 (“A Bowl Of Cherries”) on April 4. However, in terms of the commercially important 18-49 ratings/share, “NCIS” lost to NBC’s “The Voice” with 1.6/6 and 1.9/7. “Bull” fared well enough with 1.3/5.

“NCIS” season 14 episode 22 will air against the second night of “The Voice” 2017 live shows next week in the 8 p.m. block. “One Book, Two Covers” was written by David J. North and directed by Terrence O'Hara.
