“NCIS: Los Angeles” fans have seen Eric Christian Olsen’s Marty Deeks propose to Daniela Ruah’s Kensi a handful of times in the show’s run. But season 8 might just be the time when he seriously asks her, and it is not going to be a small feat.

The actors spoke with TVGuide.com at the Paley Fest in Los Angeles earlier this month, and they discussed how the perfect proposal might play out. “Kensi’s very demanding,” Olsen admitted. “So Deeks has got to up his game. When it actually happens, it’s gonna have to be good.”

Ruah recalled the time that Marty proposed to Kensi while she was in a coma and jokingly applauded his efforts. The actress did, however, admit that she thought an engagement would have already happened. Nevertheless, while it is not specifically in the cards as to when it will happen, Ruah said that she is looking forward to how the writers will play out that pivotal moment.

Olsen had some very creative ideas on how his character might pop the question. He mentioned a beach overlooking the sunset and a horse. Meanwhile, Ruah shared how it would be great to have the rest of the “NCIS: Los Angeles” team pop out of somewhere and offer their immediate congratulations.

Neither Olsen nor Ruah actually confirmed that the proposal would happen before the season comes to a close, but they both seemed very sure that it would happen eventually. Olsen told the publication that he had not read the finale episode, so it is still a possibility that it will be one of season 8's welcome surprises.

Meanwhile, Blasting News has noted that Deeks and Kensi will be going undercover in a Cuban club for the upcoming episode. Supported by the rest of the team, the two will be investigating Rebecca Larmont, a defense contractor that is being suspected of selling Navy secrets to a foreign government. Apparently, Rebecca has been working a nuclear weapon and her husband, Victor Larmont, is going to come forward with proof of her crimes.

“NCIS: Los Angeles” airs every Sunday at 8:00 p.m. on CBS in the US. It also airs every Tuesday at 10:15 on TEN Channel in Australia.
