"Mr Robot" season 3 has been confirmed but no official air date has been announced for the series’ return yet. There are talks that the third season will premiere in June, or even as early as May. However, show creator and executive producer Sam Esmail is yet to confirm the reports.

"Mr Robot" season 3 is expected to provide answers that the past instalment has left fans with. Esmail has teased fans about what fans can look forward to next season and hinted about the storyline for "Mr Robot" season 3.

Esmail said he thinks the biggest question that "Mr Robot" season 2 viewers have in mind now is what happened to Angela (Portia Doubleday). Fans were left wondering if the character has been flipped or if she now has a new motivation. “Literally in the next season, we’ll start to unravel those motivations,” Esmail told EW.

The show creator believes that leaving the viewers guessing about the true motivation of Doubleday’s character is a good thing. Season 2 may have left Angela’s motivation in the dark, but it seems Esmail is hinting that his real motives will be clearer next season. “Obviously and I’ll say this right now, on the record, those questions will be answered in due time,” he said.

In connection to this, it is likely that season 3 will explain why Angela has sided with Whiterose (BD Wong). The last season has seen them talking for about 30 minutes and next season might reveal what Whiterose could have told Angela for the latter to have a change of heart. Esmail has also hinted that White Rose and her connection to the Washington Township plant is another thread that should be explored when season 3 hits the small screens, but he provided no further details about it.

Esmail also believes that fans are interested to know what have happened to Mobley (Azhar Khan) and Trenton (Sunita Mani). "Mr Robot" viewers would remember these two characters as hackers in fsociety.

In season 2, Trenton and Mobley were seen in Arizona as it seemed they have decided to settle in the place. The former no longer wears her hijab and she has changed her name to Tanya. Next season is expected to answer why they have decided to spend their lives away from fsociety.

"Mr Robot" also stars Rami Malek, (Elliot Alderson), Christian Slater (Mr Robot), Martin Wallström (Tyrell Wellick), Stephanie Corneliussen (Joanna Wellick) and Michael Cristofer (Phillip Price). Season 2 aired on Showcase in Australia. Official air date for the third season is expected to be announced in the near future.
