Android users, who are itching to take part in a ridiculously bloody brawler with incredibly gory finishing moves will be happy to know that Warner Bros and NetherRealms have finally released the “Mortal Kombat X” android version. The game came out a month ago on the App Store for iOS devices before finally making its way into the Google Play store.

Fans of other mobile fighting games from NetherRealms will feel right at home when playing “Mortal Kombat X.” The simple tap and swipe battle system from “Injustice: Gods Among Us” and “WWE Immortals” has made the transition to Android well and the visuals for the title could be considered better than in the aforementioned games.

Similar to the mobile versions of “Injustice” and “Batman: Arkham Origins,” players will also be able to unlock exclusive content for “Mortal Kombat X” through the mobile game as reported by Tech Times. These special unlockables include a Klassic Kitana skin and the “Injustice” version of Scorpion, who was a DLC character in that title. Interestingly enough, players can also unlock exclusive content for the “Mortal Kombat X” mobile version by playing the console version.

The mobile version of “Mortal Kombat X” has players participating as a team of three fighters as they work their way through various challenge towers, while also gaining experience for their characters and in-game currency for purchasing items. While players start out with low-tier characters, they can soon unlock much more powerful fighters as the game goes on like Scorpion, Sub Zero, Raiden and more.

While not all of the content from the console version made it to the mobile version, players will be able to experience the game’s brutal X-ray shots, along with Fatalities and Brutalities. Being a mobile title, the game’s finishing moves are much easier to do than in the console versions.

Being a free-to-play title, the game has definitely felt its fair share of criticism. Pocket Gamer stated that players would have to spend a good amount of real money if they wanted to unlock all the characters in the game, unless they would rather participate in some hardcore grinding.
