In this week’s episode of the hit comedy series “Modern Family,” it’s all about integrity. Jay and Phil think about confronting their wives about how they really feel about some aspects of their relationships. Mitch and Cam try to manipulate each other into wanting the same things and Gloria teaches Haley to stand up for herself.

Jay and Phil’s frustrations

Jay isn’t happy that his wife Gloria has been taking their young son to get pedicures. She thinks it’s cute but he’s afraid that she’s softening him up too much. With one gay son and the overly-sensitive Manny, Jay is hoping that Joe could be the rough and tumble kind of boy that he’s been longing to have. Things get worse when Gloria asks him to pick up Lily’s princess castle so that Joe could play with it.

Phil came out to help Jay with the castle and on the way back, Jay notices that Phil seems to be distracted. He eventually opens up to Jay and tells him about how Claire isn’t allowing him to buy a vintage videogame console that he’s been so excited about.

Jay pushes Phil to get the console anyway and encourages him to stand up to his wife. Unfortunately, Jay himself can’t do the same when it comes to Gloria. The two men discuss the situation and just as Phil is forcing Jay to stand up for himself, Claire shows up and reveals that she actually wanted to get him the game console herself. Gloria also shows up and tells Jay that she was planning to repaint the princess castle and turn it into a pirate castle for their little boy. Both men realise their mistakes and proceed to work together to put the castle together after Phil accidentally tore it apart

Claire messes things up for Luke

It’s awards day in school and Claire is worried about Luke. She thinks that he’s insecure because Alex is winning all of the awards. After trying to bribe the principal, she uses some shady tactics to get him the “Bonaface Integrity Award.” Luke is furious when he comes home and tells Claire that anyone who gets that award gets called “Boner-face” by the entire school. Claire’s plan backfires and she feels mortified.

Meanwhile, Manny barges in and confronts Luke about a girl in school that they are fighting about. Claire finds out that the girl never liked Manny and hit on Luke but he led Manny to believe that he hit on her to spare his feeling. Claire feels guilty for doubting Luke and realises he doesn’t need any award to actually be a person of integrity.

Mitch and Cam’s baby troubles

Over at the Pritchett-Tucker household, both Mitch and Cam want to buy the upstairs apartment to make room for a nursery but they are afraid to tell one another. They babysit Joe while hoping that the experience will encourage the other spouse to think about adopting another child. When Joe proves to be a handful and starts ruining all of their expensive things, they both decide that perhaps having another baby isn’t such a good idea after all.

Gloria brings out the Colombian hot-head

Gloria invites Haley to a shopping trip but she’s too busy being at the beck and call of her boss. He acts like a total jerk and bullies her in front of Gloria so she tries to convince her to stand up for herself. Haley explains how important it is for her to do well in one thing for the first time in her life so Gloria changes her tactics. Instead of getting Haley fired by fighting back against her boss, Gloria does the dirty work and threatens him with csome Colombian swag.
